About the Program

Become a leader in contemporary dispute resolution and mediation.

CSU offers an innovative Master of Dispute Resolution that will equip you to analyse, manage, mediate and resolve conflict in diverse settings.

The Master of Dispute Resolution meets the needs of those in business, public service, legal, human resources and voluntary roles who seek to understand the cause and effect of conflict and the process and techniques for dispute resolution in workplace settings.

Design your degree This versatile degree can be customised to match your professional goals or interests. As well as core subjects in dispute resolution and mediation, you can choose from elective subjects in business, human resources, management, legal studies, law enforcement, crime prevention and child protection.
Online convenience
Designed to deliver maximum convenience for busy professionals, the Master of Dispute Resolution is available for online study from anywhere in the world. Subjects are taught using blended learning techniques including online education study materials, video-captured lectures, online meetings and subject forums.
Flexible study options
This degree is offered across a three-session academic year, with sessions commencing in February, July and November each year. You can choose to study just one subject in an academic session or, with approval, fast-track your degree by taking up to four subjects a session.

The Master of Dispute Resolution consists of twelve subjects (96 points).

– students may either omplete all four (4) subjects from the same specialisation, or
– choose four (4) subjects from the subjects listed across all specialisation

Entry Requirements

Applicants are required to have an undergraduate degree from a recognised Australian tertiary institution (or equivalent).

Applicants without a tertiary qualification may be admitted to the Graduate Certificate in Dispute Resolution or Graduate Diploma of Dispute Resolution on the basis of professional attainment and/or work experience.

Upon successful completion of the Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma, students will then be eligible for admission to the Master of Dispute Resolution and receive credit for applicable subjects.

Credit Transfer / Exemption

Credit for prior learning and credit for current competencies will be granted to eligible applicants.
Credit will be considered on a case-by-case basis and may be offered for equivalent level studies.
